Things you may not have thought about when buying a fake turf lawn
Have you thought about installing Artificial Grass in your home or workplace? Have a read through our article below, there may be something you have missed. Adding artificial turf to any area will be very beneficial to everyone in and around its installation location.
Listed below are a few do’s and dont’s when it comes to artificial turf:
Get infill on your lawn
We always use an infill in our artificial grass. Infill is compiled using a special type of kiln dry sand from a specific quarry and can also have a Geo Infill added as well, in some cases it can be a mixture of both depending on the best solution. It’s main purpose is to act in the same way as soil would for normal grass, when added to your artificial lawn, you will find that the lawn will cushion with every step you take – in turn that means that it will reduce the amount of force on your joints everytime you are in the garden with the kids. And, in the summer or on hot days, infill will cool down the lawn, the same as soil does.
Don’t presume your lawn will LOOK fake
Even though the product you have purchased carries the word ‘Artificial’ in its name don’t let that hinder your opinion of it. These days, with the technology involved being at its highest level the grass looks more real than ever, right from the touch all the way down to the colour. In reality people would have to concentrate very hard and inspect your lawn to in fact see that it was artificial, this is how real it looks these days.
Do throw your gardening gear out
This is what makes it a done deal in my eyes, THE best part of having this luxury installed is the fact that it requires absolutely no maintenance at all. So throw out the lawn mower and tools (actually don’t throw that out, put it on eBay or Gumtree). You will not have to water, cut, fertilize or fork your lawn EVER again. Also you will save money on water costs and never have to replace your tools, therefore saving money on tools!!
Don’t try and save money by visiting dis-trusted manufacturers
At the end of the day its like most things in life, you get what you pay for High quality manufacturers will provide you with a high quality product. Cutting corners is not an option when it comes to artificial grass, I know it may seem expensive in the short term but if you think about how long its lasts and the money it will save you over the years its a great investment. Choosing a cheaper manufacturer may leave you with fake grass looking FAKE or even leave you with a product that doesn’t last as long as it should.
